Galaţiul va deveni, în perioada 11-12 aprilie 2019, gazda primei ediţii a “Forumului de Cooperare în Regiunea Dunării”, eveniment organizat de Universitatea “Dunărea de Jos” din Galați şi Şcoala Naţională de Studii Politice şi Administrative (SNSPA) Bucureşti, sub patronajul Ministerului Afacerilor Externe şi al Preşedinţiei României la Consiliul Uniunii Europene.
Scopul “Forumului de Cooperare în Regiunea Dunării” este de a deveni o platformă de dialog politic şi economic pe teme privind dezvoltarea regiunii Dunării şi de a facilita o relaţie mai strânsă în elaborarea politicilor UE şi punerea lor în practică între factorii de decizie de la nivel naţional şi european şi partenerii locali şi regionali.
Printre participanţii la acest important eveniment ce se va organiza la Galaţi se vor număra reprezentanţi guvernamentali, alături de oficiali europeni de rang înalt, funcționari din cadrul administrațiilor regiunilor și orașelor, precum și experți și reprezentanți ai mediului universitar şi ai mediului de afaceri. Astfel, pe parcursul celor două zile ale forumului, aceştia vor avea ocazia de a face schimb de bune practici și cunoștințe în domeniul dezvoltării regionale și urbane.

ESPON organizes the workshop “From evidence to action: territorial trends and challenges identified in the ESPON projects. Fostering policy coherence in the Danube Region”, in Vienna (Austria), on Thursday 4 April 2019.
Key stakeholders involved in cooperation formats such as the EU Strategy for the Danube Region, Interreg Danube and Central Europe are invited to participate in the workshop.

- Members of the Steering Group DANUVAL (evaluation of the EUSDR; part 3 the meeting will serve to discuss the inception report)
- Interreg Danube working group on post-2020 programming
- Interreg Central Europe governance bodies and beneficiaries
- Stakeholders and experts interested in macroregional/transnational territorial analysis, monitoring and evaluation in the Danube Region / Central Europe region – with a focus on the example of the EUSDR and INTERREG DANUBE-process
- Other interested experts from both the public and private sector
The seminar will provide a wide range of data, indicators and tools that help to monitor territorial trends, compare regional social, economic and environmental performance and identify functional linkages beyond national borders. These insights can support the iterative process of strategy development, monitoring and evaluation.
The beneficiaries of Agrigo4Cities projects organize the final transnational conference, which will give the participants to opportunity to find out about:
- how urban and periurban agriculture (UPA) contributes to the development of community building spaces, platforms for competitive economic models and clean and sustainable urban environment,
- how to integrate participatory approach into public decision-making,
- how to motivate and empower vulnerable/marginalized groups to become socially and economically more engaged by participating in decision-making processes.
The transnational conference, coordinated by the Central Transdanubian Regional Innovation Agency, will bring together scholars, practitioners, NGOs, activists, policymakers and public institutions’ representatives. The conference will be held in English, Hungarian translation will be provided.
The Danubius Young Scientist Award will be granted to 14 young scientists -one in each country that is part of the EUSDR. The procedure for nominations is now open until Friday, 26th April 2019 at 23:59!
The Danubius Young Scientist Award will be granted to 14 young scientists - one in each country that is part of the EUSDR. The award seeks to encourage young scientists to engage in the scientific examination of problems and questions specifically related to the Danube and to stimulate the scientific community in the Danube region. The award will be endowed with 1.200,- Euros for each winner of the Danubius Young Scientist Award. Moreover, thanks to the ongoing kind support by the JRC, the awardees will be invited by the European Commission´s Joint Research Centre to visit the JRC in Ispra, Italy in 2020.
The candidate has to be nominated by his/her hosting scientific organisation (university, academy of sciences, etc.) meaning that the candidate himself / herself cannot apply for the award.
